Developer and publisher D’Avekki Studios has released a playable demo for The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker 2, now available on PC via Steam. As a featured title for Steam Next Fest, this hands-on preview offers an initial look at the sequel’s FMV mechanics and branching mystery.

The demo runs approximately 30 minutes, though completion time may vary depending on the exploration of dialogue options and hidden video responses—an approach longtime fans may recognize as “going green”. A dedicated feedback form has also been made available through the Steam discussion forums, inviting players to answer five questions, including suggestions for potential additions to the demo prior to release.
Serving as a direct sequel to The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker, the upcoming title continues D’Avekki Studios’ signature full-motion video (FMV) investigative format. Players once again assume the role of a therapist tasked with interviewing a group of psychologically complex and potentially dangerous patients following a professor’s murder. Through carefully constructed questions and close analysis of recorded sessions, players must piece together inconsistencies and uncover the identity of the killer.
The sequel builds upon the studio’s established FMV design philosophy, previously showcased in narrative-driven detective titles such as The Shapeshifting Detective, Dark Nights with Poe and Munro, and Murderous Muses. Gameplay emphasizes player interpretation over traditional puzzle-solving, with branching dialogue and randomized elements ensuring that the identity of the murderer can change between playthroughs.
Targeting a 2026 release on PC via Steam, D’Avekki Studios has also indicated plans for Steam Deck compatibility through a native Linux build, including support for webm video playback and a redesigned interface optimized for larger displays.
