Nintendo has hosted a dedicated Splatoon Raiders Direct presentation, pulling back the curtain on new gameplay systems, weapons, and mechanical gadgets ahead of the game’s launch. The single-player action shooter is scheduled to release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 on July 23, 2026.

The adventure follows a technician who teams up with Deep Cut – the adventurous musical trio – to hunt for treasure across the mysterious Spiralite Islands. Operating from a customizable ship base, players deploy onto distinct environments ranging from crystal mines to dangerous Salmonid fortresses. Combat relies heavily on ink-spraying weaponry, featuring over 100 variations that can be upgraded or converted into crafting materials. To move across the islands, a member of Deep Cut joins the player in a powerful island rover capable of detecting hidden loot and absorbing energy from mega power eggs dropped by defeated Salmonid bosses.
Character progression shifts focus toward customizable ink tanks and specialized gadgets. Players can choose from three distinct loadouts: the agile Swift Tank, the frontline Power Tank, or the tactical Utility Tank. Each tank houses specific gadget combinations, such as the forward-dashing Spring Shoe, the shield-breaking Cleaver, or the automated Shot Pot turret. These gadgets can be deeply fine-tuned via mod points collected during exploration to increase damage, fire rates, or elemental attributes.
Nintendo also confirmed that the experience supports both single-player and up to 4-player co-op across local wireless and online multiplayer channels. Even solo players can call for temporary online backup mid-mission. Additionally, the game features three swappable difficulty modes, unlocks custom outfits via Splatoon amiibo functionality, and hides mystical Salmonid artifacts across the map. Leading up to launch, a promotional Splatoon Raiders Splatfest will take place in Splatoon 3 from July 11 to July 13, launching alongside custom blue and light-yellow Joy-Con 2 controllers on July 23.
Pre-orders are now live via the Nintendo eShop (BE, NL , US), with themed amiibo figures based on Deep Cut planned to launch alongside the game.
