Independent publisher Silver Lining Interactive, alongside development partners Dotemu, Guard Crush Games, and Supamonks, has officially announced that the critically acclaimed roguelite Absolum – we reviewed the PC edition of this title last year – will make its physical debut on the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17, 2026.
Absolum fuses the kinetic, high-octane combat of classic arcade side-scrollers with the unpredictable progression structures of a modern roguelite. Players plunge into the war-torn realm of Talamh, an oppressed fantasy landscape where the tyrannical Sun King Azra has suppressed natural magic through his ruthless Crimson Order. To dismantle this imperial chokehold, players must master a roster of four distinct outcast heroes – Galandra, Karl, Cider, and Brome – leveraging raw tactical skill to chain unpredictable power-ups together across procedurally shifting enemy syndicates.
While next-gen tactical teams look toward the September launch, collectors can currently secure original Absolum Special Editions for the PlayStation 5 and standard Nintendo Switch. Available in strictly limited quantities, these legacy boxed variants serve as a premium archive for fans of the game’s development road. Each Special Edition box is packed with exclusive physical memorabilia, including four custom character trading cards, an official full-color art booklet containing development illustrations, poster-quality environmental artwork, and four exclusive metal pins showcasing iconic character designs.
The next-generation physical release will arrive as a complete, full-cartridge edition retailing at £44.99/€49.99/$49.99. Pre-orders have officially launched through local retail partners and the publisher’s direct storefront to meet high expected demand.
