Ahead of its official multiplatform launch on July 15, 2026, publisher NACON and developer ACE Team have released a grueling cinematic trailer for The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu.

Heavily inspired by the cosmic horror novella of H.P. Lovecraft, the cooperative title is entering the market with massive momentum. Its recent Steam Next Fest demo managed to capture the attention of over 300,000 players, propelling the psychological horror game past a staggering 700,000 wishlists on Steam. The title will support full crossplay capabilities across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC from day one.
In The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, players step into the boots of ill-prepared explorers venturing deep into a hostile, cursed jungle in search of a legendary city filled with priceless treasures. Expeditions begin aboard a central galleon hub, where teams of up to four select active contracts and ration out weapons and supplies before making landfall. The core gameplay heavily prioritizes slow-burn horror over action; resources are scarce, firearms carry strictly limited ammunition, and equipment is fragile. Survival relies heavily on sneaking, avoidance, and knowing when to execute a hasty retreat rather than engaging in direct combat.
The game’s most unique threat, however, is not the physical jungle monsters, but the decaying sanity of the crew. As players push further into the unknown, their perception of reality unravels, introducing heavy visual and auditory hallucinations that can lead to accidental sabotage. Even death offers no sanctuary, as fallen crewmates can be reanimated in a corrupted form to actively hunt down their surviving allies.
