Publisher 4Divinity and developer Eschatology Entertainment have announced Guns of Eschaton, a first-of-its-kind, mystical Western first-person shooter fused with Souls-like difficulty. The game represents the final original universe envisioned by the late legendary art director Viktor Antonov, renowned for designing the worlds of Half-Life 2 and Dishonored.

Set in an apocalyptic, 19th-century America, Guns of Eschaton takes you on an unforgiving journey from the West Coast to the East Coast. The gameplay subverts standard shooter tropes by forcing a deliberate, tactical approach to combat where resource management and survival are paramount. To overcome lethal enemy encounters, you must rely on specialised ammunition, precise dashes, well-timed parries, and occult abilities. Strategy is further elevated by the Codex, an in-game system that reveals enemy weaknesses through Sequence Points, ensuring that every single shot counts.
The game boasts deep character progression and flexible buildcrafting, allowing you to customize your gunslinger with an array of firearms, ammunition types, talismans, armor, and consumables. By combining active and passive abilities, you can discover powerful synergies and learn deadly combat tricks from legendary gunslingers. Furthermore, the dark, frontier Americana world can be braved entirely solo or alongside allies, featuring full solo and co-op progression.
Guns of Eschaton is currently set to launch on PC via Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox.
