Developer and publisher Funcom has announced that the console versions of its open-world survival game, Dune: Awakening, will officially launch on September 22, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Already available on PC, the upcoming console version will deliver 60fps in Performance Mode on both PS5 and Xbox Series X, alongside optimized console controls and UI layouts.

Alongside the release date, Funcom revealed that Dune: Awakening will receive a physical disc release for the PlayStation 5 on September 22. The studio is partnering with Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe for retail distribution across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, and with Solutions 2 GO Inc. for North and South America. A retail release in Japan is scheduled to follow in October, with its specific publisher to be named later.
The console launch arrives with significant feature additions that will simultaneously update the PC version. Most notably, the update introduces a dedicated single-player mode featuring customizable difficulty settings, experience point scaling, and resource harvest rates. It also brings the dramatic finale of the game’s cinematic campaign, titled Book One. These additions arrive alongside cumulative post-launch PC improvements, including entirely optional PvP mechanics, expanded late-game loops, and new quest lines.
Digital pre-orders are currently live, offering standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate editions, with the latter tiers granting 5 days of early access. Physical and digital pre-orders will also receive the exclusive Terrarium of Muad’Dib in-game base item and a general color palette.
