Ubisoft has shared a deep dive into the interface for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, focusing on a cleaner and more contextual experience. Taking inspiration from the systems in AC Shadows, the HUD is now fully customizable to give players total control over their immersion in the Caribbean.

The game will feature four HUD presets – Default, Simple, Minimal, and Disabled – that allow players to instantly strip back the interface. While the Default setting provides full guidance, the Disabled mode removes all icons for a pure, instinct-driven experience. Every element, from the visibility meter to combat indicators, can also be toggled individually.
The updated HUD is essential for mastering the reworked ground combat, which introduces a defense mechanic. Enemies will have visible bars showing their ability to withstand pressure; depleting these through parries and heavy attacks opens them up for finishers. For those who prefer playing without a HUD, visual cues like an enemy’s hat falling off will signal when their guard is broken. Ubisoft confirms that despite these additions, the game remains a pure action-adventure title with no levels or gear scores.
Set during the Golden Age of Piracy, Black Flag Resynced invites you to sail the Caribbean as Edward Kenway, a rebellious pirate captain swept into the ancient conflict between Assassins and Templars. In his pursuit of fame and fortune, Edward crosses paths with legendary figures like Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, and Calico Jack, all while the fate of the pirate republic hangs in the balance.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a faithful remake of the original Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, and will launch worldwide on July 9, 2026. The game will be available on Ubisoft+, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC (Steam, Ubisoft Connect).
