Square Enix has released a free playable demo for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Xbox Play Anywhere).

This deep dive allows players to experience the first two chapters of the award-winning sequel ahead of its June 3 launch on these platforms. Progress made in the demo carries over to the full game, unlocking exclusive survival items and a “Kupo Charm” to aid in resource gathering.
The demo covers the “Nibelheim Incident”, featuring both Cloud and Sephiroth, and opens up the Grasslands for exploration. Players can test the acclaimed Synergy-driven combat system or utilize new “Streamlined Progression” features – including infinite HP and MP – for a story-focused experience.
