A new challenger enters the soulslike arena with Witch The Showdown, a high-difficulty parry-action deckbuilder from Citales Games and published by Perp Games. The game is set to launch in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Steam demo available now.

At the core of Witch The Showdown is a combat system built around perfectly timed parries that generate mana for powerful deck-driven attacks. Blending precise timing with strategic card play, the game frames every encounter as a boss fight where mastery of both reflex and resource management defines progression.
You build momentum through defensive precision, then convert that advantage into offensive bursts, creating a loop where survival and aggression are tightly linked. The structure supports multiple difficulty tiers, alongside Duel Mode for immediate entry into curated deck setups, offering both accessibility and depth within the same system.
Progression in Witch The Showdown is shaped through a roguelike Tournament Mode, where each run introduces new rival encounters, deck options, and unlockable cards and relics. Every attempt becomes a tailored build path, reinforcing experimentation and adaptation as central pillars of the experience. The game’s modern anime-inspired presentation also extends into narrative elements, with Luze introduced through a dedicated manga featured in the demo build.
Alongside its 2027 release plans, Witch The Showdown will appear during Steam’s Deckbuilders Fest from May 4th to 11th, with additional visibility at Indie Live Expo on April 25th, positioning the title early within the competitive deckbuilder space while its systems continue to evolve through the playable demo.
