Publisher Hitcents and developer Throughline Games have officially announced that the 2D cinematic side-scrolling action-adventure title Forgotlings will launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on June 18, 2026. Following its initial debut on PC via Steam on February 17, this expanded platform rollout will also make the PC iteration available on the Epic Games Store and GOG simultaneously with the console release.

Forgotlings is a semi-open world Metroidvania set within an enchanted realm populated by lost, sentient objects searching for a sense of purpose. Players assume the role of Fig, a gifted posing doll and the captain of a sentient vessel named the Volare. The core narrative focus involves journeying across distinct territories to unite various warring tribes against a mysterious, existential threat.
Mechanically, the title balances direct combat loops and stealth systems to navigate hostile creatures and bandits scattered throughout the wilderness. Interaction with the world’s inhabitants is handled via a full voice-acted dialogue system, alongside the inclusion of a playable in-universe tabletop pastime known as INA. Visually designed to replicate the aesthetic of an animated feature film, Forgotlings utilizes thousands of hand-drawn animation frames and features a score recorded by the renowned vocal ensemble Theatre of Voices.
