Bandai Namco has released Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes, bringing the unsettling world of the franchise into virtual reality on PlayStation 5 (PSVR2), SteamVR on PC and the Meta Horizon Store, and as a standalone experience on Meta Quest 2 & 3. Developed by Iconik, this new entry shifts the perspective directly onto Dark Six, placing you inside her fragmented reality as she searches for what remains of herself.

Rather than retelling familiar events, Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes reframes the series’ signature tension through proximity and presence. The environments feel closer and more immediate, turning every corridor, shadow, and sound into a potential threat. Known locations and faces return in altered forms, but the experience consistently challenges perception, making familiarity unreliable in a world built on distortion.
New areas expand the universe further, including a haunting train station where the Conductor stalks the surroundings. These additions introduce new puzzles, hazards, and inhabitants, pushing the narrative into more emotionally charged territory while maintaining the series’ focus on unease and psychological tension. Playing as Dark Six anchors the experience in identity and fragmentation, reinforcing the idea that survival is tied to understanding what has been lost.
With VR support across multiple platforms, Altered Echoes positions itself as the most immersive interpretation of the Little Nightmares universe to date, built around presence, vulnerability, and distorted reality.
