Enter the Chronosphere is making a tactical move before launch, with developer Effort Star and publisher Joystick Ventures shifting the game’s Early Access release from May 14 to May 25, 2026. The delay comes after Subnautica 2 claimed the same original date, prompting the studio to sidestep the collision and give its turn-based bullet hell roguelike more room to breathe.

Launching at $14.99 on Steam, Enter the Chronosphere blends tactical roguelike structure with a distinctive “nothing moves until you do” mechanic, freezing bullets, enemies, and battlefield chaos until players act. Each decision – whether attacking, dodging, or reloading – pushes the entire encounter forward, creating a strategic spin on bullet hell combat.
At Early Access launch, you can expect roughly 40+ hours of metaprogression, 30–45 minute runs, five distinct biomes, procedurally generated chronospheres, and multiple playable characters including Marcia, Urtar, and Lillypilly. Inspired by classic roguelikes but built around stop-and-start tactical action, the game aims to balance accessibility with deep build experimentation through unlockable gear, abilities, and evolving strategies.
Rather than going head-to-head with one of May’s biggest releases, Enter the Chronosphere is buying itself extra time – and potentially a clearer lane – for its tactical sci-fi debut. If you’d like to try the game for yourself ahead of time, a demo is still available on Steam.
