Developer and publisher Cyan Worlds has announced that the modern remakes of the puzzle classics Myst and Riven will launch on PlayStation 5 on May 19, 2026. These versions represent the definitive editions of the from-the-ground-up remakes originally released on PC and Quest over the last few years.

Both titles include full support for PlayStation VR2, allowing players to switch between a traditional flatscreen experience and immersive virtual reality. In addition to the Sony launch, the Riven remake is also scheduled to arrive on Xbox Series X|S and the Microsoft Store on the same day.
Technically, both games are being positioned as “PlayStation 5 Pro Enhanced” titles. On the Pro hardware, players can expect improved textures, better draw distances, and higher render resolutions in VR. For standard PlayStation 5 users, the games offer a choice between a 60 FPS performance mode and a 30 FPS fidelity mode that enables ray-traced reflections. The developer also confirmed that both titles support the console’s new Power Saver mode, which caps performance to reduce energy consumption.
By leveraging lessons learned from their previous project, Firmament, Cyan has refined the control schemes and visual upscaling for the console audience, ensuring that the intricate mechanical puzzles of the Age of Myst remain accessible regardless of the chosen platform.
