Blaze Entertainment has announced the Evercade Nexus, a new retro-focused handheld console launching in October 2026, bundled with a Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack cartridge.
Designed as the latest evolution of the Evercade ecosystem, the device continues the brand’s focus on physical cartridges while introducing a more modern hardware design. At its core is an upgraded form factor featuring a 5.89-inch IPS display, dual analog sticks, and improved ergonomics aimed at supporting a wider range of retro experiences, including 32-bit and 64-bit titles.
The included cartridge brings together Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, both adapted for the platform with enhancements such as widescreen support, updated camera controls with twin-stick functionality, and additional unlockable content. The collection reflects Evercade’s ongoing effort to expand its library with recognizable classics while maintaining compatibility across its growing catalog of cartridges.
One of the standout additions is EverSync, a new local multiplayer feature that allows two Evercade Nexus systems to connect directly and share gameplay using a single cartridge. This wireless functionality operates without requiring an internet connection, enabling shared play sessions across separate devices.
Beyond multiplayer, the handheld includes front-facing stereo speakers, support for wireless headphones, and a battery designed to last over five hours. Returning features such as TATE mode, customizable display settings, and system updates remain part of the experience, alongside continued support for the broader Evercade library, which now spans hundreds of games.
Pre-orders for the Evercade Nexus (official specs here) open on April 1, with the device priced at €199.99. The handheld will be available through select retailers including Amazon and Funstock, with additional accessories such as a carrying case and screen protectors sold separately.
