Nacon and crea-ture Studios have officially revealed Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Rageborn, a brutal shape-shifting action adventure coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam in 2027.

Set against the harsh wilderness of Alaska, Rageborn follows Taylor, a student whose life is shattered when his eco-activist friend is murdered, triggering his violent awakening as a Garou – a werewolf warrior bound to Gaia. What follows is a blood-soaked journey of vengeance, self-discovery, and ecological warfare against corruption, corporate forces, and supernatural horrors.
Rather than treating transformation as a gimmick, crea-ture Studios is building the entire experience around it. Taylor’s three forms – Homid, Lupus, and Crinos – each serve distinct combat and traversal purposes, effectively replacing the traditional gadget progression of the genre with dynamic shapeshifting. Human form offers ranged precision, wolf form emphasizes stealth and agility, while Crinos delivers devastating melee power. According to studio president Louis Lamarche, this multi-form structure is central to both exploration and enemy design, requiring players to constantly adapt rather than rely on a single playstyle.
The game’s interconnected Alaskan world leans heavily into Metroidvania philosophy, with new Gifts, powers, and traversal upgrades unlocking previously inaccessible paths while deepening Taylor’s spiritual bond with Gaia. Beyond combat, players will also build and expand a werewolf den by rescuing allies, creating a broader progression loop through crafting, upgrades, and support systems.
With hundreds of possible Gift combinations, RPG customization, and enemy encounters specifically designed around form-switching strategy, Rageborn appears poised to merge classic exploration-driven design with savage supernatural combat. If crea-ture Studios can successfully channel the raw identity of Werewolf: The Apocalypse into a polished action-adventure framework, this could become one of the more distinct genre hybrids on the horizon.
