Maboroshi Artworks and Entalto Publishing have initiated the first closed public playtest for SOMBRAS: Negative Frames, their upcoming first-person psychological horror adventure. Conceived by the creator of Last Time I Saw You, the title was first announced back in May, outlining a multi-platform release strategy targeting PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam for Q4 2026.

In SOMBRAS: Negative Frames, you take on the role of Shiomi Alterio, a photography student trapped inside a distorted, nightmare version of her 2000s-era Japanese hometown. To uncover fragments of her psyche – exploring themes of multicultural identity and family conflict – you must navigate this dark reality using a tactile analog photography system. This mechanic allows you to capture supernatural anomalies, manually develop film rolls, and upgrade your camera gear to reveal hidden pathways.
Through this newly announced testing window, player feedback will be collected to help refine the game’s pacing, environmental puzzles, and core mechanics ahead of its commercial launch.
