The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu Sets June Closed Beta Window and Opens Console Pre-Orders

Publisher NACON and developer ACE Team have announced a dedicated closed beta weekend for The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, their upcoming cooperative cosmic horror title. The title is set to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam on July 15.

Ahead of its upcoming Steam Next Fest appearance and the official launch, the playtest window opens on Friday, June 5 at 2:00 PM CEST and will conclude on Monday, June 8 at 10:00 AM CEST. Registration forms remain open through the publisher’s official playtest portal.

Digital pre-orders for consoles are officially live right now on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and if you are playing on PC, NACON is letting the community team up for a sweet deal on Steam. They’ve set up a wishlist milestone system: the more people wishlist the game, the bigger the discount everyone gets on launch day. With over 400,000 wishlists already checked off, you are well on your way to unlocking a serious price cut before the game drops cross-platform on July 15.

Heavily inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s cosmic horror, The Mound drops you and up to three friends onto an uncharted, cursed jungle continent. Your mission? Hunt down contracts, survive unthinkable horrors, and track a legendary lost city packed with priceless treasure.

But monsters hiding in the dense brush are only half your problem. As your squad pushes deeper into the foliage, you’ll have to manage a brutal collective insanity mechanic. The further you go, the worse the hallucinations get – triggering group panic that can easily cause you to accidentally sabotage your own team.
