FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment have announced that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will officially launch for the Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026.

The definitive release marks the debut of the critically acclaimed, 30-million-selling open-world action-RPG on Nintendo hardware. Developed under the creative direction of Hidetaka Miyazaki alongside rich world-building lore penned by A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin, the comprehensive package aims to transport players seamlessly across the treacherous landscapes of the Lands Between.
The Tarnished Edition acts as a complete collection, natively bundling the base game alongside the massive, critically acclaimed Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. This narrative continuation directs players into the ominous Realm of Shadow following the footsteps of Miquella, exposing terrifying boss encounters alongside an arsenal of hidden weapons and specialized combat skills. Beyond integrating the existing expansion, this updated 2026 edition introduces brand-new gameplay content, including two entirely unique starting character classes, fresh armor sets, and cosmetic customization options for Torrent, your spectral steed.
While the hardware-tailored collection serves as a major launch milestone for the Nintendo Switch 2, existing players on legacy platforms will not be left behind. Bandai Namco confirmed that the fresh character classes, armor equipment, and Torrent customization features included in the Tarnished Edition will simultaneously launch as a separate, standalone digital purchase on August 28 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
