As part of the Steam Deckbuilders Fest, developer Cococucumber has released a new gameplay teaser for Echo Generation 2, offering a deeper look at the tactical synergies between its cast of characters.

Following a highly successful demo period that saw over 90% positive reviews during February’s Steam Next Fest, the studio is using the lead-up to its May 27 release to highlight how its deckbuilding mechanics evolve the turn-based combat of the original title.
The sequel shifts toward a character-driven chapter structure where deck construction is built around specific team roles. New footage demonstrates how players can chain abilities across the party; for example, Jack focuses on setting up long-term status effects that Noliva’s companion, Strix, can then convert into powerful team-wide buffs. Other characters like Bulder introduce a “high-risk, high-reward” style, where his damage output spikes as his health drops, while Annata Z serves as a durable tank capable of absorbing hits and spreading debuffs.
With over 150 cards across offensive, defensive, and utility categories, the game aims to blend classic RPG exploration with the strategic depth of a modern deckbuilder. Echo Generation 2 is scheduled to launch on May 27 for PC and Xbox Series X|S, arriving as a day-one title for Xbox Game Pass.
Echo Generation 2 is set to launch on May 27, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. Subscribers to Game Pass will also have day-one access to the game.
