Ubisoft has released a technical deep dive into Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, detailing how the remake modernizes Edward Kenway’s ground-based movement and combat.

In their latest dev log, Creative Director Paul Fu confirmed that the title has been rebuilt using the latest Anvil engine technology, introducing a “manual jump” and advanced parkour mechanics that allow for side and back ejects.
Stealth has also seen a significant boost; Edward can now crouch at any time – a feature missing from the 2013 original – and utilize an “Observe” mechanic to tag enemies and find objectives. Combat is now centered around a systematic “Takedown” loop, requiring players to vary their attacks with heavy strikes and dodge-counters to bypass enemies that now adapt to repetitive playstyles.
Developed by Ubisoft Singapore, the project aims to be a faithful but technically superior recreation of the pirate epic, featuring overhauled graphics and expanded narrative arcs alongside the return of legendary figures like Blackbeard.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will launch worldwide on July 9, 2026. The game will be available on Ubisoft+, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC (Steam, Ubisoft Connect).
