Nintendo is celebrating MAR10 Day with the release of the final trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, giving fans a fresh look at the upcoming animated adventure ahead of its theatrical debut on April 1, 2026.

Unveiled during a recent Nintendo Direct presentation, the new trailer offers a final glimpse at the film inspired by the world of Super Mario Bros.. The movie marks a major highlight in Nintendo’s ongoing celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the iconic franchise, which have been taking place since September 2025. Alongside the trailer reveal, Nintendo is launching a range of initiatives and promotions centered around Mario and his universe.
One of the key additions is new content in the Nintendo Today! (NL) mobile app. Starting today, fans who open the app daily can collect digital trading cards themed around The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. In total, forty unique cards will be available to gather through June 10. Beginning April 1, visitors at participating cinemas will also be able to scan special posters to unlock additional in-app bonuses such as themed photo frames tied to their movie visit and downloadable wallpapers.
The celebration also extends to classic games. Three retro Mario titles are now available through the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack library. Mario Clash and Mario’s Tennis make their European debut via the Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics collection on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, while Mario vs. Donkey Kong joins the Game Boy Advance – Nintendo Classics lineup. Meanwhile, the Nintendo Music app has added the soundtrack from Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury to its growing catalog.

Fans can also participate in upcoming events such as the next Tetris 99 Maximus Cup, themed around Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. The event runs from April 3 to April 7, rewarding players who earn at least 100 event points with a special in-game theme inspired by the games.
To mark MAR10 Day, Nintendo has also launched a limited-time sale (NL) featuring discounted digital titles starring Mario and friends across the Nintendo eShop and My Nintendo Store. Among the highlighted deals are Super Mario Party Jamboree, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Super Mario Maker 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, and the remake of Super Mario RPG.
The celebrations will also reach fans in the Netherlands with a special real-world event. From March 27 through April 12, a temporary Super Mario Experience will open at Hoog Catharijne in Utrecht to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros.. Visitors will be able to explore an interactive space dedicated to the history of the series, try the latest Mario games including Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, and take part in tournaments such as speedrun challenges based on the original Super Mario Bros.. The event will also feature meet-and-greet moments with Mario, prizes, and other themed activities designed for fans of all ages.
