Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake has received a new seven-minute Gameplay Overview trailer from Square Enix and Artdink, introducing fresh mechanics alongside returning classics.

New features include Scrolls, collectible items that allow specific characters to learn additional skills or spells, and Sigils, artifacts tied to elemental powers that can trigger special effects in battle. Together, these systems expand the traditional turn-based combat with new layers of strategy.
Players will once again journey with the Hero in Dragon Quest I and form a party of up to four in Dragon Quest II, with each companion bringing unique abilities. Sigils such as the Sun, Moon, and Soul can now modify abilities or even upgrade them into powerful “Souped-Up Skills,” like transforming Dragon Slash into Double Dragon Slash.
Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake launches worldwide on October 30 for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, Switch 2, and PC (Steam, Microsoft Store).
