Dark Rail, a Grim Roguelike Where You Manage Perilous Train Expeditions, Announced

Spanish solo developer Steam Veil Games has partnered with publisher JanduSoft to release Dark Rail, a dark management roguelike set to launch across all platforms in Q4 2026. To celebrate the announcement, a playable demo has launched on Steam as part of Steam Train Fest.

Set in a grim industrial city on the fringes of an empire, Dark Rail puts you in command of the Inquisition. Gameplay blends turn-based strategy, city management, and roguelike mechanics. You are tasked with managing headquarters, maintaining civic order, and fulfilling strict prisoner shipment quotas.

To meet these demands, you must send inquisitors on perilous train expeditions into the wilderness to hunt down heretics and battle terrifying creatures. Every expedition requires balancing resources against rising revolt and spreading madness, forcing you to make grim sacrifices to keep the Empire running.
