Canadian independent studio Borealys Games has announced that Echoes of Mystralia will launch into Steam Early Access on August 11, 2026. Set in the same universe as the studio’s 2017 title Mages of Mystralia, this action-heavy ARPG roguelite has already surpassed 175,000 Steam wishlists ahead of its upcoming release.

In Echoes of Mystralia, you step into the role of a Watcher tasked with safeguarding the Cycle of Memories from a destructive rift that threatens to reality. The core gameplay revolves around tactical, lightning-fast combat that demands quick positioning and split-second decisions. To survive the dangers outside the safety of the Azimuth temple hub, you must utilize an open-ended spell-crafting system where the physical positioning of elements – like fire, ice, and lightning – directly dictates the spell’s mechanical output. The system allows for millions of creative combinations to tackle the primordial Guardians blocking your path.
At its Early Access launch, the game will feature three distinct regions to explore, three major Guardian bosses to vanquish, 12 base spell forms, and 110 unique ‘Memories’ to collect and build your magical arsenal with. Between runs, you will return to the central temple to unlock new permanent skills, adjust your combat approach, and consult a millennia-old goddess.
A demo for Echoes of Mystralia is still available on Steam as well.
