Once Upon A KATAMARI Arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 This October with Brand-New DLC

Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has announced that Once Upon A KATAMARI is making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8, 2026. The next-gen release arrives alongside a brand-new version of the game: Once Upon A KATAMARI Rolling LIVE Highlights Edition, which introduces the Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC featuring new stages, tracks, and features.

The base game of Once Upon A KATAMARI takes players on a chaotic trip through time – visiting eras like the Jurassic Period, the Ice Age, and historical Japan – while rolling up increasingly massive clumps of objects. The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 release is designed to take advantage of the upgraded hardware, offering a smoother frame rate, enhanced graphics, and a brand-new rolling feel mapped directly to the console’s unique mouse control functionality. Fortunately for current players, Nintendo Switch owners can transfer their save data directly to the Switch 2 version, and those who already own the original Switch release will receive a free update to unlock these performance and control enhancements on the new hardware.

Launching simultaneously with the new port, the Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC adds 10 brand-new missions and their soundtracks inspired by the mobile title Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE. In this content, players roll up items alongside Earth’s streamers to help the King of All Cosmos ride internet trends and grow his online fanbase.

The DLC will be available to purchase individually across all existing platforms – including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and the original Nintendo Switch – while new buyers can choose from three distinct digital and physical editions, including a music-heavy Royal Sound Edition.
