Following its full release out of Steam Early Access late last year and its subsequent expansion to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in May, the liminal space survival game Escape the Backrooms has officially made its surprise landing on Nintendo Switch 2.

Packing in more than 30 unique, lore-accurate levels and priced at €12.99 / £9.99, the port of the cooperative creepypasta phenomenon features complete parity with other platforms, alongside a brand-new cross-platform lobby code system that allows handheld users to instantly squad up with PC and console players.
Up to four players can wander through eerie, yellow-walled corridors and dark parking garages while utilizing an immersive proximity voice chat mechanic – though players must tread carefully, as the terrifying entities lurking in the shadows can hear real-time mic communications. To escape each level alive, teams will have to cooperate closely, manage their sanity levels with Almond Water, and avoid accidental “no-clipping” splits that leave individual wanderers isolated in hostile sections of the map.
