Publisher KOEI TECMO Europe and developer Omega Force have released a brand-new gameplay trailer for A.O.T. 3, providing the first deep look at the features coming to the upcoming Attack on Titan action title. Scheduled for release this winter on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via via Steam, the new footage showcases how the game will adapt the anime’s full narrative arc from its early Survey Corps beginnings to its dramatic final conclusion.

The headline addition revealed in the gameplay trailer is Exterior Scouting Missions. This new mode allows you to venture outside the safety of the walls to freely explore Titan-infested territory, construct vital supply bases, and reclaim land for humanity. These open excursions turn survival into a balancing act; you must carefully manage your squad’s ODM gear fuel, blade durability, and overall morale. Pushing deeper into unknown territory offers massive advantages, but forces you to constantly weigh the risk of injury and death against the choice to safely retreat.
The trailer also details major combat refinements. While your squad can assemble custom teams utilizing characters with unique individual skills, the Titans themselves have been upgraded with unpredictable behaviors and aggressive new attack patterns. To keep the experience accessible, Omega Force is introducing a new Casual Mode alongside the enhanced, high-flying ODM mechanics.
Finally, KOEI TECMO confirmed that the game’s opening animation is being produced by studio MAPPA, with acclaimed action animator Arifumi Imai directing. This cinematic will be added to the game as a free post-launch update.
