The latest ID@Xbox trailer for There Are No Ghosts at the Grand moves past the initial mystery to show us how Friday Sundae’s musical, supernatural renovation game actually works. Instead of retreading familiar ground, the footage dives into the core loops that define the experience: open-world restoration, high-stakes nighttime investigations, and a strict 30-day countdown.

Set in the fading seaside town of Kingswood-on-Sea, There Are No Ghosts at the Grand follows Chris David as he restores the inherited Grand Hotel while digging into the unsettling truths hidden beneath its floorboards. However, the scope is wider than just the hotel. The trailer reveals that nearby shops, village squares, and other neglected corners of town are also yours to rebuild. Armed with sandblasters, paint sprayers, and furniture cannons, you spend your days renovating, often unlocking hidden memories and local folklore in the process.
But the atmosphere shifts when the sun goes down. The new footage highlights how renovation tools double as ghost-hunting gear at night. As Chris explores eerie locations to uncover the Lovecraftian rot beneath the town’s surface, the game’s dual identity – balancing cozy restoration with escalating paranormal tension – takes center stage.
Adding to the pressure is a newly detailed 30-day and 30-night framework. This time limit forces you to carefully balance your schedule between restoration work, exploration, and building relationships before the clock runs out. With more than ten original songs woven into the narrative, There Are No Ghosts at the Grand is shaping up to be a weird, rhythmic, and genre-blending take on the renovation sim.
There Are No Ghosts at the Grand is set to launch this year for Xbox Series and PC via Steam – with a demo still available –and the Microsoft Store. The game will also be available through Game Pass, with additional platforms planned for a later date.
