Simone Developer Cococucumber has confirmed that Echo Generation 2 is scheduled for release on May 27, 2026. The title will be available for Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. Subscribers to Game Pass will also have access to the game on the day of launch.
This follow-up to the original Echo Generation transitions the series into a science-fiction deckbuilding RPG. The narrative follows Jack, a father stranded in an alien dimension, as he attempts to return home. The sequel serves to bridge the gaps in the franchise timeline by exploring Jack’s missing years.
Unlike its predecessor, the gameplay focus shifts toward collecting and managing a deck of over one hundred unique cards to combat cosmic entities. Technical improvements include an upgraded version of the studio’s signature voxel art style and an entirely new analog synth score composed by Pusher. Players can also expect to recruit various allies through side quests to assist in strategic encounters.
