A new trailer for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book provides a closer look at the game’s whimsical, exploration-driven adventure ahead of its release. The footage highlights how players will dive into the pages of a living book, uncovering lost memories across colorful environments filled with unusual creatures and hidden surprises.

In the game, Yoshi embarks on a journey after a mysterious talking book—Count Goodbook—falls from the sky, its pages filled with creatures it can no longer remember. Players must explore each chapter to restore those memories, using Yoshi’s familiar abilities like egg-throwing, flutter jumps, and ground pounds, alongside a new mechanic that lets him carry creatures on his back to access their unique powers.
The trailer also showcases the game’s focus on discovery and experimentation, encouraging players to interact with creatures in different ways to learn more about them, unlock rewards, and gradually expand the book’s chapters. Along the way, familiar faces like Bowser Jr. and Kamek make an appearance, hinting at a larger mystery unfolding between the pages.
Yoshi and the Mysterious Book launches on May 21 exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
