An entirely new sci-fi universe is taking the spotlight this month as the third-person action RPG Unyverse secures a featured slot at the upcoming Mundo Gamer Showcase 2026, streaming internationally on June 20. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the single-player indie title breaks away from traditional genre formulas by combining a rich Afrofuturist setting with a technical combat engine rooted in fighting game mechanics.

Unyverse‘s campaign delivers an estimated 25 to 30 hours of gameplay set on the continent of Lesser Intabas, a semi-open world consisting of three major cities, nine villages, research labs, and active conflict zones. Playing as a D’Zola warrior, players must navigate a narrative shaped by faction rivalries and impactful choices. Traversal across these environments heavily emphasizes verticality, utilizing a parkour system to explore scalable structures, wild natural regions, and dense, bustling marketplaces.
Combat stands out as a core pillar of the experience, prioritizing skill, timing, and strategy over basic statistical progression. The system integrates precision-based mechanics such as counterattacks, combos, and mid-fight stance switching across eight distinct combat styles, each possessing unique advantages and speed-to-defense limitations. This mechanical depth is supported by customizable skill trees and gear progression to accommodate varied playstyles.
Unyverse also places a massive emphasis on authentic Black and Afro-descendant player representation, with an in-depth character creator engineered to provide detailed facial features, hair textures, and cultural styles. Visually, the world blends traditional African architecture, clothing, and original music with advanced sci-fi aesthetics to establish a distinct cinematic property ahead of its planned 2027 launch for PC via Steam.
