Independent developer Distant Light Games has announced a publishing partnership with Hooded Horse for its upcoming top-down space action RPG, C-Beams. The title is set to release into early access for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

After two years of production, this milestone provides the studio with operational stability and marketing support, allowing the team to expand and focus entirely on development. While internal timelines remain unchanged, the extra backing enables the team to implement more features and content before launch, with future development updates scheduled to post directly to Steam.
Set within a dangerous black hole system during a competitive corporate gold rush, C-Beams tasks you with piloting customizable vessels through a network of jump points connecting stations, asteroid fields, and nebulas to haul rare elements and build faction reputation.
To survive, you must master a gameplay style that emphasizes realistic Newtonian flight physics, requiring pilots to manage thrusters, fuel reserves, and cargo mass, which slows down overloaded ships. The action combat features tactical sub-system targeting to disable enemy weapons or engines using turrets, railguns, and powerful C-beams, alongside stealth options and physical asteroid cover. Eventually, upgrades for firepower, cargo capacity, and engine performance can be handled through a personal hangar base using looted or purchased components.
C-Beams will release into early access for PC, and is coming to Steam and the Epic Games Store, with a release date yet to be announced.
