Developer Happinet Corporation has announced that a demo for Brigandine: Abyss is now available via Steam. The fantasy war strategy RPG is due out for PC on August 26, followed by PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2 on August 27.

This playable preview features the first two chapters from both the Gran Dragnica and Scarlet Will story modes, allowing players to experience the early story, party formation, and combat. Save data from the demo cannot be transferred to the full release. While the current trial is exclusive to PC, versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2 will follow at a later date.
The full game takes place on the continent of Meltitea, 200 years after an arcane armor forged by the sorcerer Lunadea – the Brigandine – saved the world from the Abyssloa Empire. Tensions rise as the Kingdom of Solginat grows into a disquieting presence, prompting rival nations to issue a formal denunciation just as the Abyssloa Empire is reborn.
Within the main campaign, the Story Mode offers the unique histories of six distinct nations, whereas the alternative Mission Mode expands the playable roster to 24 nations that each feature individual win conditions. The core gameplay loop splits time between an Organization Phase, which requires efficient task management to strengthen allied troops and develop bases, and an Attack Phase, during which neighboring territories can be invaded to obtain resources and personnel. When conflict arises, battles unfold across a turn-based hexagonal grid that relies on tactical commands to either systematically defeat individual units or target enemy leaders to force an immediate retreat.
