Following its multi-platform launch in August 2025, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is finally ready to make the leap to Nintendo’s successor console. The acclaimed 2D action-platformer will land on the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 24, with digital pre-orders opening immediately on the Nintendo eShop.

The side-scrolling title centers its narrative around series veteran Joe Musashi, who returns home to discover his native village destroyed and his entire clan magically transformed into stone. Players must guide the agile ninja through sprawling, Metroidvania-style stages packed with branching exploration routes, secret rooms, and massive boss encounters. Structurally, the gameplay relies on a fast-paced combat engine that blends traditional katana strikes and distance-based kunai management with powerful magical abilities known as Ninpo.
Alongside the baseline digital version, fans can pick up a physical Deluxe Edition packaged as a physical game-key card box. This special release bundles a physical art book and a collection of translucent character cards with a variety of digital perks, including the official soundtrack, a digital art book, in-game gold, and cosmetic outfits.
Crucially, the Deluxe package grants instant access to the SEGA Villains Stage downloadable content expansion. This endgame challenge introduces five extra stages and pairs Musashi off against three iconic bosses from legacy SEGA franchises: the robotic threat of Dr. Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog, the unpredictable street fighting style of Goro Majima from Like a Dragon, and the imposing giant Death Adder from Golden Axe.
