A new Season 6 update for racing game Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is now available, introducing a range of gameplay additions, visual improvements, and technical updates for all players.
One of the main additions is the new Detective mode, which shifts the focus away from traditional racing by tasking players with tracking targets across Hong Kong Island and Ibiza without being detected. These missions introduce specific conditions such as traffic density and weather, requiring a more measured and observational driving style. The feature was originally selected by the community and will continue to expand through the season and its mid-cycle update.
The update also brings a full topographic rework of Hong Kong Island, aiming for a more authentic representation with refined building designs, increased environmental detail, and updated infrastructure elements like traffic lights and intersections. This overhaul enhances both immersion and navigation across the map.
Customization options receive a boost with the return of clothing shops, now located on Ibiza, allowing further personalization of player avatars. A lineup of seven new vehicles has been added as well, including the Pagani Huayra Roadster, marking the brand’s return to the franchise and signaling additional models to come in future updates.
Season 6 also introduces a collaboration with Michelin, featuring themed events, cosmetic items, and a dedicated vehicle pack. Alongside content additions, the update includes various technical and network improvements focused on session stability and overall online performance.
Looking ahead, the development team continues work on larger features, including cross-region and crossplay functionality, improvements to competitive racing systems planned for Season 7, and housing features expected to arrive in Season 8.
