Worshippers of Cthulhu, the Lovecraft-inspired city-building strategy game, launches on March 27 for Xbox Series X|S, following its earlier release on PC via Steam.

Originally debuting in Early Access in 2024 before reaching full release in 2025, Worshippers of Cthulhu expands its reach to consoles with this upcoming Xbox launch. A PlayStation 5 version is also planned, though no release date has been confirmed yet.
The game places players in the role of a cult leader devoted to awakening Cthulhu, blending city-building mechanics with darker narrative elements. Instead of traditional settlements, players establish and expand cult-controlled cities across multiple islands, ensuring they remain connected while managing resources and maintaining stability among followers.
Strategic decision-making plays a central role, as every action influences the balance between devotion and control. Performing rituals unlocks new abilities and knowledge tied to eldritch entities, while exploration reveals new territories and opportunities for expansion. The system encourages constant adaptation, with shifting conditions requiring careful planning to sustain growth.
Moral choices also shape progression, particularly when dealing with outsiders. Players can decide whether to convert non-believers into loyal followers or sacrifice them to strengthen their cult’s influence. This dynamic adds another layer to the management systems, reinforcing the game’s darker tone and long-term consequences.
