Digimon Story: Time Stranger, the turn-based JRPG, is set to receive a large-scale expansion in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, following its current availability and upcoming Switch release.

The announcement confirms that development on the expansion is already underway, though specific details on its content remain limited for now. According to producer Ryosuke Hara, the new content will build upon the game’s existing world while also laying groundwork for future entries in the Digimon franchise.
While the full scope of the expansion has yet to be outlined, early comments suggest a strong narrative component. Hints point toward potential alternate timelines or parallel settings, with the return of Aegiomon playing a role in how the story unfolds. Voice actor Mutsumi Tamura is also confirmed to be involved once again, indicating continuity with the base game’s cast.
Alongside the expansion reveal, results from the latest Digimon Referendum were shared, highlighting fan-favorite creatures that may influence upcoming content. Characters such as Gammamon, Loogamon, and Kazemon ranked highly, and while not all selections will be directly included, elements of the vote are expected to shape both this expansion and future projects.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, with Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch versions scheduled to release globally on July 10.
