Developer Wych Elm and publisher Team17 have released a brand-new video for Silver Pines, their upcoming survival-horror Metroidvania. Narrated by the studio’s co-founder and designer, Linus Larsson, the overview offers a detailed look at what players can expect during the game’s tense opening hours as it prepares for its scheduled launch on October 8, 2026.

Silver Pines‘ story begins as a traditional detective mystery, following private investigator Red Walker as he wakes up in a diner located in the middle of nowhere. After stepping outside into the abruptly abandoned town of Silver Pines, he answers a ringing phone booth to receive an cryptic message instructing him to locate a musician named Eddie Velvet. From there, the narrative slowly shifts into a dreamlike journey filled with surmounting dread.
Designed by a five-person Swedish team with industry veterans who worked on Helldivers 2 and The Darkness, the game combines resource management, limited ammunition, and environmental puzzles with classic Metroidvania-style exploration. Players will navigate a neo-noir landscape built with unique hand-painted, rotoscoped animations when it hits PC (Steam and the Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S this autumn.
