Rumbral, a dark atmospheric puzzle-platformer, is set to release on April 23 for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. A playable demo is already available on Steam.

Set in a desolate and mysterious world, the game revolves around exploration and environmental storytelling rather than direct exposition. You awaken in an unfamiliar forest without memories, gradually uncovering fragments of your past while navigating abandoned locations that hint at prior inhabitants and untold events.
A central mechanic defines progression, allowing transitions between two interconnected timelines. By interacting with pools of magenta liquid, the present shifts into a shadowed past, altering the environment and opening new routes. This dual-reality system encourages careful observation, as changes in one timeline directly influence traversal and puzzle-solving in the other.
The experience leans heavily on atmosphere and discovery, with minimal guidance. Progression is tied to understanding the world itself, solving obstacles, and uncovering hidden collectibles that provide further context about the setting and its history. While much of the journey is quiet and introspective, subtle tension builds through the suggestion that the player may not be entirely alone.
A newly released trailer showcases the game’s tone and core mechanics, highlighting its shifting environments and moody presentation. A playable demo is already available on Steam, offering an early look at the puzzle design and narrative direction ahead of launch.
