Runecraft Studios has announced that a free playable Steam demo for its debut dark fantasy JRPG NOSTRA will open to the public on September 25, 2026. The upcoming two-to-three-hour demo expands on the build showcased at gamescom 2026, incorporating player feedback to refine combat pacing, tutorial flow, and user interface readability.

Developed by a solo creator running a heavily customized RPG Maker MZ build titled NeoEngine, NOSTRA takes place on the isolated island continent of Nostra, where an uneasy peace among three kingdoms is threatened by mysterious portals opening near an isolated village.
Featuring tactical, side-view turn-based combat, the title prioritizes positional strategy, timing, and resource management over grinding. The game includes character specialization trees, procedurally generated gear with affixes and socketing systems, a dynamic day-night cycle with changing weather, spatial audio, and NPC daily routines.
NOSTRA is scheduled to launch for PC via Steam in November 2027, featuring full Steam Deck support alongside English and German language options.
