Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Sucker Punch Productions have announced that the free multiplayer downloadable content Legends for Ghost of Yōtei will launch on March 10. Arriving as part of the version 1.5 update, this cooperative mode allows players to team up to confront supernatural versions of the “Yōtei Six.” The expansion will be available at no additional cost for all owners of the base game on PlayStation 5.

The Legends experience features three distinct mission types at launch, including a Survival mode where four players defend territory against escalating waves of enemies. Success in these battles allows teams to activate powerful Blessings, while losing control of an area triggers debilitating Curses unique to each of the four available maps.
Additionally, a Story mode offers 12 missions for two-player teams, leading into large-scale four-player Incursions. These assaults culminate in massive boss fights against mythological entities like the Spider and the Kitsune, with a specialized Raid featuring Lord Saito scheduled to follow in April.
Players can choose between four unique classes: the Samurai, Archer, Mercenary, or Shinobi. While every class can utilize a katana, they each specialize in specific weaponry and combat systems, such as the Samurai’s mastery of the ōdachi or the Shinobi’s proficiency with the kusarigama.
The update also introduces a dedicated social lobby where teams can practice their skills or compete in mini-games like Bamboo Strike between missions. As players progress, they can unlock Legendary gear and class-specific cosmetics to customize their warriors for the high-level challenges ahead.
