Blizzard Entertainment has announced Diablo IV expansion Lord of Hatred, which will launch on April 28, 2026, for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Battle.net. The expansion marks the climax of the ongoing Age of Hatred saga, introducing a new campaign chapter, additional classes, major gameplay evolutions, and the ancient region of Skovos.

Set in the aftermath of Vessel of Hatred, the expansion drives players toward a final confrontation with Mephisto as his influence spreads across Sanctuary. As Hell’s forces close in and the Pools of Creation draw nearer, the Wanderer is forced into an uneasy alliance with a foe long thought lost, as Lilith returns and her final prophecy begins to unfold. The campaign places humanity’s fate on a knife’s edge, blending political tension, ancient lore, and escalating demonic threats as hatred threatens to reshape the world.
Lord of Hatred expands player expression through two new classes, one of which is available immediately through pre-purchase. The Paladin makes its long-awaited return, wielding sword, shield, and Holy Light in a playstyle focused on faith-driven melee combat and divine power. Alongside it, a second unrevealed class is set to debut at launch, promising to further broaden combat options and class identity across Sanctuary.
Players will explore Skovos, the birthplace of the first civilization and one of Sanctuary’s oldest regions. Once home to Lilith and Inarius, the land now stands fractured and dangerous, defined by volcanic shores, storm-ravaged forests, and drowned ruins steeped in forgotten history. New towns, dungeons, and enemies await as cultists, oceanic monstrosities, and lingering echoes of Hell challenge every step forward.
The expansion also delivers extensive gameplay updates, including reworked skill trees with expanded level caps, deeper class variants, and new buildcraft possibilities. Itemization receives a significant overhaul with the introduction of loot filtering, enhanced crafting systems, the return of the Horadric Cube, and Talismans that unlock powerful set-based bonuses. After the campaign, players can engage with a revamped endgame centered on choice-driven progression, escalating challenges, and high-value rewards, culminating in The Echoing Hatred, the ultimate gauntlet designed to test even the strongest builds.
