Arcanaut Studios, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, has announced Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, a single-player, narrative-driven action RPG in development for consoles and PC. No release date has been confirmed. The project is directed by Casey Hudson, best known as the director of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and creator of the Mass Effect series.

Positioned as a spiritual successor to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic aims to deliver a story-focused role-playing experience set in a galaxy standing on the edge of renewal. Players will shape their journey through meaningful choices that determine their alignment with the light or the dark side, reinforcing the moral weight and personal agency that defined the classic era of Star Wars RPGs.
Arcanaut Studios’ team of veteran developers and storytellers is building an expansive interactive saga that emphasizes character-driven storytelling, player choice, and cinematic presentation. With Hudson at the helm, the game seeks to blend deep narrative design with modern action RPG systems, offering a fresh yet familiar vision of Star Wars storytelling where destiny is shaped entirely by player decisions.
