Publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe and developer Dimps have released a brand-new trailer for DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 3, offering a deep dive into the upcoming game’s core combat systems and overarching thematic mechanics. The footage showcases a gameplay demonstration following a new member of the Great Saiya Squad on a mission, highlighting a title built entirely around the concept of connection.
The core connection mechanic allows players to forge strong bonds with legendary characters who have protected Earth throughout the franchise’s history. By equipping iconic attacks, skills, and combat styles, players can fully customize their original fighters based on their favorite heroes.
Combat in DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 3 allows squads of up to four players to tackle cooperative missions ranging from classic duels to multi-enemy skirmishes. Strategically, draining an opponent’s Ki exposes them to devastating Critical Strikes. Players can also trigger the Soul Assist mechanic to summon a hero’s soul for a supportive technique, or execute a Soul Change to temporarily transform into and play directly as a legendary warrior. Additionally, the Awakening mechanic returns to unlock a character’s hidden potential, featuring race-specific transformations such as the iconic Super Saiyan form.
DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 3 is scheduled to launch sometime in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Additional playable races and unique combat styles will be revealed at a later date.
