Amazon Games, together with Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog, has announced Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a modern remake of the original 1996 Tomb Raider, set to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. The title reimagines Lara Croft’s first expedition with contemporary design sensibilities while preserving the atmosphere and exploratory tension that defined the franchise’s debut.

Powered by Unreal Engine 5, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis enhances the iconic journey across Peru, Greece, Egypt, and a myth-veiled Mediterranean island. Players will guide Lara Croft through perilous traversal sequences, intricate puzzle mechanisms, ancient ruins, and encounters with lethal wildlife as she races to recover the fragmented Scion artifact—an object tied to immense, and dangerous, power.
The developers emphasize a blend of reverent authenticity and modern reinvention: expanded level design, updated traversal systems, refined combat, and newly integrated surprises aim to offer both returning fans and newcomers a revitalized experience. The remake also establishes continuity with Tomb Raider: Catalyst, with Alix Wilton Regan—known for roles in Dragon Age: Inquisition, Cyberpunk 2077, and Mass Effect 3—returning as the voice and performance capture actress for Lara Croft.
