Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics have officially announced Tomb Raider: Catalyst, the next major entry in the long-running franchise, scheduled to release in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. Developed in Unreal Engine 5, the game introduces a sweeping new chapter in Lara Croft’s journey and represents the most ambitious world Crystal Dynamics has constructed to date.

Set across Northern India, Tomb Raider: Catalyst unfolds in the aftermath of a mythic cataclysm—an event that has fractured the land, awakened dormant forces, and drawn the world’s most infamous treasure hunters to the region. Racing against rivals, Lara must navigate alliances, shifting motives, and ancient powers hidden beneath the surface. As the boundaries between past and present blur, she is forced to decide whom she can trust to prevent a new catastrophe from reshaping the future.
The title emphasizes expansive exploration, intricate tomb design, richly layered puzzles, and customizable adventure technology. Amazon Games positions Catalyst as a defining entry for both dedicated fans and new players, offering a narrative built on trust, betrayal, and discovery.
As with the upcoming Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, actress Alix Wilton Regan—known for roles in Dragon Age: Inquisition, Cyberpunk 2077, and Mass Effect 3—returns as the voice and performance capture lead for Lara Croft.
