Simone Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Santa Monica Studio have announced that God of War Laufey will launch on February 16, 2027, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
Announced during San Diego Comic-Con 2026, the game marks the next major entry in the franchise, with Santa Monica Studio head of creative Cory Barlog confirming that the following Kratos-led title will directly connect to this story.
The narrative focuses on Laufey (Faye), warrior and wife to Kratos, who unexpectedly awakens in a mysterious realm called the Everywhen after her death. Upon discovering that her plans to protect Kratos and Atreus are in jeopardy, she must fight through a divine afterlife where mythic gods clash for supremacy.
Laufey’s gameplay shifts toward Faye’s distinct combat style, emphasizing speed, control, and precision as you battle dangerous magical threats across multi-mythological realms.
