Publisher Crystal Dynamics and developer Bit Bot Media have announced 2D action platformer Legacy of Kain: Ascendance for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. The game is scheduled to launch on March 31.

Legacy of Kain: Ascendance is built around vertical traversal, fluid combat systems, and skill-based gameplay. Set in the dark fantasy world of Nosgoth, the game combines animated cutscenes with detailed pixel art environments, guiding players through collapsing kingdoms, haunted ruins, and fractured timelines. Environmental challenges and puzzle elements are integrated directly into combat encounters, maintaining momentum throughout each stage.
The game features multiple playable protagonists. Kain utilizes vampiric powers in close-quarters combat, while Raziel appears in two distinct phases: first as a human Sarafan knight and later in his vampiric form with expanded mobility. A third playable character, the vampire Elaleth, introduces a faster and more aggressive combat style focused on sustained offensive pressure.
An original score composed by Celldweller accompanies the experience, and several returning voice actors from the Legacy of Kain series reprise their roles, including Michael Bell, Simon Templeman, Richard Doyle, and Anna Gunn.
