DaRmaZat Publisher and developer Cococucumber has released a free playable demo for Echo Generation 2 as part of Steam Next Fest. The sci-fi, punk-inspired turn-based RPG is scheduled to launch in 2026 for Xbox Series and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
The demo introduces players to Sister M, a mysterious child with psychic abilities who is being held inside a secretive facility operated by the shadowy organization known as FST. Players will explore the facility, uncover hidden truths, and experience the opening beats of the sequel’s narrative.
It also offers a first look at the reworked combat system. Echo Generation 2 replaces the original game’s mechanics with a deckbuilding-inspired turn-based system featuring more than 100 collectible cards. Players can build custom decks, chain together combos, summon allies, and unleash powerful abilities.
Set after the events of the original Echo Generation, the sequel shifts its main focus to Jack, an ordinary father who finds himself stranded in a strange dimension far beyond Maple Town. As he searches for a way back home, he encounters unusual companions, alien threats, and a sprawling cosmic world filled with secrets.
The game blends science fiction with nostalgic influences drawn from 1980s and 1990s films and games, all presented in Cococucumber’s signature voxel art style. Throughout the adventure, players will unravel the mystery behind Jack’s missing years while navigating story-driven quests, tactical encounters, and handcrafted environments.
