DaRmaZat Tank action adventure game TankRat has been announced by publisher Kepler Interactive and developer Alpha Channel for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, with a planned release window set for spring 2026.
Originally released under the name TankHead, TankRat is described as a substantially reworked and expanded version of the original single-player experience. Owners of TankHead on PC via the Epic Games Store will receive TankRat as a free upgrade when it launches, reflecting the scope of changes and additions made during development.
Set in the ruins of a world devastated by war, TankRat takes place within the Event Containment Area, a vast wasteland formed from the remains of a once-great city. Humanity survives by projecting consciousness into mechanical shells, and players step into the role of Whitaker, a Sleepwalker inhabiting a hardened drone known as a Needle. From there, survival depends on scavenging wreckage, upgrading machinery, and taking control of powerful armored tanks left behind from a forgotten age.
Gameplay centers on shifting between the agility of the Needle and the raw firepower of salvaged tanks, with combat focused on dismantling enemy machines and repurposing their components. The wasteland is dominated by TankRats, corrupted remnants of former Sleepwalkers twisted by time and radioactive storms known as the Shroud. As players push deeper into the Dead Zone, they pursue rumors of Highpoint, a city said to rise above the ruins, while uncovering the truth behind the forces that reshaped the world.
TankRat will be available as a single-player experience and is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 5 and PC in spring 2026.
